Key registration information

Registration is a confirmation of the fact of residence at a specific address in Armenia. This is an alternative residence permit to extend your stay. With a residence permit, you can stay in the country for more than 180 days.

The registration stamp is placed in the passport. If you put it in a Russian passport, it will become invalid.

How to get a residence permit?

In the presence of the owner:
  1. Arrange with the owner of the apartment to register you.
  2. Translate the passport into Armenian and notarize the translation.
  3. Book an appointment through the website migration.e-gov.am.
  4. Go with the owner of the apartment to the police station of the administrative district in which the property is located and apply for a residence permit in the passport office.
  5. Pay a fee of 1,100 AMD through the terminal.
  6. Get approval from the police department and a stamp in your passport or certificate of residence permit.
Without owner:

You can register without the presence of the owner, but it is better to tell him about your intention. Otherwise, you may be removed from the register without warning.
  1. Inform the owner of the apartment about the intention to register.
  2. Translate the passport into Armenian and notarize the translation.
  3. Book an appointment through the website migration.e-gov.am.
  4. Go to the police station of the administrative district in which the property is located and apply for a residence permit at the passport office.
  5. Pay a fee of 1,100 AMD through the terminal.
  6. Within 15 days, the district police officer will check the fact of residence at the specified address and transfer the information to the police.
  7. Get a police stamp in your passport or certificate of residence permit.

What documents do you need at the police station?

  • Notarized translation of the international passport;
  • an application for registration, which is written in the passport office in Armenian;
  • passport of the owner of the housing in which you intend to register. If there are several owners, then all of them must be present and bring passports;
  • certificate of ownership of the apartment or house.
