Why do I need an International Veterinary Passport and a Customs Union certificate?

To enter the country you need documents for an animal. Armenia is a member of the Customs Union. Therefore, the certificate for the transport of animals to other countries is replaced by the certificate of the Customs Union.

It is issued in the state veterinary clinic. To issue a certificate, you need a passport of the animal and an analysis of feces for helminths.

To cross the border and live in Armenia with an animal, an International Veterinary Passport is required.

It contains key information about the animal:
  • view;
  • breed;
  • floor;
  • age;
  • nickname;
  • color;
  • owner data.

What vaccinations are needed for all animals?

The animal must be vaccinated as follows:
Vaccine Vaccination time
Rabies vaccine Not later than 1 year and not earlier than three weeks before the intended departure
Treatment for worms Not earlier than 5 days and not later than 24 hours before departure. Mandatory mark in the veterinary passport indicating the drug and the date of treatment

An analysis for the titer of antibodies to rabies is not needed to enter Armenia,
however it is obligatory if after you are going to visit the state
European Union.

Vaccination checklists for different animals

Additionally, dogs, cats, ferrets and rabbits should be vaccinated as follows:

Dog

  • Plague of carnivores;
  • hepatitis;
  • parvovirus infections;
  • adenovirus infections;

Cat

  • panleukopenia;

Ferret

  • plague of carnivores;
  • viral enteritis;
  • pseudomonosis;

Rabbit

Should an animal be microchipped?

Yes. It is necessary to chip the animal, and indicate the fact of chipping in the International Veterinary Passport.

If the animal was first microchipped and then vaccinated against rabies, then it should not be missed. However, in Armenia they do not pay attention to this.
