What is workpermit?

Strictly speaking, workpermit is a system for obtaining a work permit for foreigners.

Since Russia is a member of the EAEU, Russians working in the RA and their family members are not required to obtain any permits while the employment contract is in effect. But in order to legalize your residence in the country, you need to register on the platform workpermit.am and issue a certificate.

Documents on education, advanced training, specialization, their certified translations are recognized by each of the EAEU countries without a legalization procedure.

Who needs a work permit?

There are exceptions to the general rule. For example, to engage in pedagogical, legal, medical and pharmaceutical activities, you will still need to legalize your documents. In addition, for some positions, a work permit will not be enough, you need to obtain Armenian citizenship. This applies to officials in state structures.

Teaching activities include the following professions:

Legal activities include:

  • legal adviser;
  • advocate.

For medical and pharmacological activities:

  • paramedic;
  • doctors of different specializations;
  • chief physician;
  • junior medical staff;
  • laboratory assistant;
  • pharmacist;
  • pharmacist;
  • pharmacologist;
  • pharmaceutical chemist;
  • clinical worker.

What documents are needed?

To obtain a workpermit, you need a minimum package of documents:

  • passport together with a certified translation into Armenian;
  • number social cards;
  • an employment contract as a confirmation of readiness to hire you;
  • photo for card design.

How to get a work permit?

Get a workpermit on the official website workpermit.am. The site is available in Russian. For this you need:

  • register as a citizen of the EAEU;
  • fill in your details, attach a photo;
  • upload documents: passport, employment contract, card number;
  • agree to receive information by e-mail;
  • complete registration;
  • wait for an invitation letter by e-mail;

Production time

Document processing usually takes a month from the date of application. But in practice, everything depends on the workload of the responsible department of the Migration Service, so the process may be delayed.

What does workpermit look like?

This is a plastic card the size of a bank card. The map shows photos and your data. Also, the period for issuing a permit is 1 year.

How much does it cost to get a work permit?

There is no state fee for obtaining a card.

Is it possible to lose workpermit?

You can lose your workpermit if the employment contract is terminated. In this case, the card is valid for another month and is cancelled.
