We will answer the main questions about universities in Armenia: where to go after schoolswhat documents to submit, how much the training costs.
General information and features of training
Armenia is part of the Bologna system of education. Grades are given in points.
There is a three-stage system: undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate. You can also get a graduate degree.
The system is not fully functional. Transferring to other universities with the advent of credits remains difficult, courses are rarely provided to choose from.
Among employers, a bachelor's degree is considered an inferior higher education. Therefore, students prefer to continue their education in the magistracy.
The competition for admission takes place in two stages (waves). At the main stage of the competition, an application is submitted for one specialty (free and paid) in one university. Educational institutions form lists in descending order of grades. If, after the end of the main stage, there are vacant places in universities that have dropped out of the competition, they can try to enroll in the second wave. The application is submitted to one or more universities for a maximum of six specialties.
Regardless of the university chosen, students study the Armenian language, Armenian literature, and the history of Armenia for at least two semesters. Upon completion, a knowledge test takes place.
There is no military department in the form familiar to Russians. There is a military department at Shirak State University. She is more of a faculty. The department introduced the specialty "Initial military training".
Graduates are awarded the rank of lieutenant. When entering as a foreigner, students do not receive the rank of lieutenant at the exit, only a bachelor's degree.
