Everything is fine. It happens to everyone. If this is a small private store, check if the owner has a Russian card. No card? You can refuse to buy or find the nearest ATM to withdraw dramas.
Relocators rarely encounter such a problem in Yerevan and large cities.
Personal experience
It happened to me twice. The first time was in September at Pull & Bear, where the Mir card was not accepted. Left things and came back a week later. Now the world is accepted there.
The second time - in a used electronics store when buying a monitor. Then it was possible to resolve the issue by transferring the owner to the Russian card.
