Yerevan Jazz Fest

For the next three weeks, Yerevan will live with jazz - concerts of various stylistic colors and scales will be held at different venues in the city. This weekend it will be possible to evaluate two contrasting directions of the genre. On Friday - listen to the classics of world and Armenian jazz performed by the State Jazz Orchestra of Armenia in the building of the Union of Architects. On Saturday - plunge into electrojazz and fusion at the Jazzy Beats party at the Paparazzi Club.

Screening of the film "Spring, summer, autumn, winter ... and again spring"

The TUMO Creative Technology Center Cinema Club continues with a film by iconic Korean director Kim Ki-duk. One of the most poetic and calm creations of the otherwise scandalous author tells about the secluded life of two Buddhist monks - a teacher and a student. The film will be shown in its original language with English subtitles.

Cabaret by Ludmila Petrushevskaya

Musical and theatrical performance of the poetess, playwright and writer Lyudmila Petrushevskaya. In this format, she has been touring for many years - she tells stories from her life and her own works, plays skits and sings her own and other people's songs in different languages. This time, the performance is promised in the noir style, and the actors Alexander Pal (“Bitter!”) and Nikita Kukushkin (“Correction Class”) will help Petrushevskaya.

Antibabylon

An international poetry event created by the Berlin-based NGO Panda platform, which aims to help Eastern European artists. In the first phase of the project, participants from Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Germany had to write poetry in their own language and translate each other's works. Now, with these poems and translations, they are sent to the capitals of the countries participating in the project, where they will read them live (with subtitles). The project is trying to create a space in which different languages are a point of convergence rather than division.

Execution "Shanti» Jean-Claude Eloi 

The State Philharmonic of Armenia is launching a series of events dedicated to experimental music. This Saturday you will be able to meet "Shanti» Jean-Claude Eloi is one of the iconic examples of early electronic and concrete music. The composer recorded his study of time, the antagonism of war and peace, order and resistance within the walls of the famous Cologne Electronic Music Studio in the early 70s. At the event, they promise to perform fragments and talk about the context of the work.

Visual performance based on the work of Yeghishe Charents

Futurist Yeghishe Charents is considered the main Armenian poet of the twentieth century. Within the walls of the house-museum of Martiros Saryan, they will try to revive his poem in the form of a dance performance to the accompaniment of improvisation on the theme of Komitas' music.

An entertaining event for children at the Nexus Art Center - the audience will be shown cartoons, but all the sound effects in them are going to be created by a live group of musicians.
