Cocktail week in Yerevan

Lecture by Hrach Bayadyan about Yerevan

Grach Bayadyan, a culturologist and lecturer at the Yerevan Institute of Contemporary Art, will give a lecture on how two cities coexist in Yerevan - the planned modernist capital of Soviet Armenia and a modern city trying to preserve its history. The event will be held at the HayArt Cultural Center.

Festival of Contemporary Classical Music 

The Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall will host the annual Penderecki Festival of Contemporary Classical Music, named after the Polish classic. Pianist Hayk Melikyan and conductor Sergey Smbatyan will perform works by Arvo Pärt, Christopher Muscat, Tigran Mansuryan and Eric Whitacre.

Klopovnik, a curatorial group and contemporary art center from Chelyabinsk, is opening an exhibition in Yerevan, Taking Space, about conflicts between man and place and the violation of boundaries. Artists include Bela Poghosyan, Di Studio, Nikolai Golikov, Anastasia Alyokhina and Andrey Tikhonov. Curator - Namor Votilav.

Lovecraft in The Bath

The Ban Club will show two extremely independent adaptations of the works of H. F. Lovecraft, filmed under the auspices of HP Lovecraft Historical Society. First, you can watch "Whispering in the Dark" by Sean Braney - about a literature teacher who encountered alien creatures. Then, under a DJ set from Tindrum, Andrew Lehman's "Call of Cthulhu" will be shown - a screen version of the main myth in the writer's work. Both films are stylized as the cinema of the 30s.
