Lyon park

Lyon Park is located in the administrative district of Erebuni, next to the municipality. In honor of the lake located in this area, it was popularly known as “Tokhmakh Gol”.

There is an artificial lake Vardavar here. It was created in the 8th century BC, during the reign of the Armenian king Argishti I. There is a monument in the lake that mentions that about 3 thousand years ago King Argishti built this lake and called it “Argishti Sea”.

Currently, the lake is also used by windsurfers. 2010-2011 The park was completely renovated with the support of the municipality of Lyon, renamed in honor of the city of Lyon and became a symbol of friendship between the two cities.
