Near Arshakunyats Avenue there is a pantheon and a park named after Komitas. Cultural and political figures are buried in the Pantheon, such as the great composer Komitas, composers Romanos Melikyan, Aram Khachatryan, Arno Babajanyan, writers Avetik Isahakyan, Alexander Shirvanzade, Nairi Zaryan, Hovhannes Shiraz, William Saroyan, actors: Hrachya Nersisyan, Hovhannes Abelyan, Mher Mkrtchyan , Avet Avetyan, Vahram Papazyan, architects: Alexander Tamanyan, Toros Toramanyan, historian Arakel Leon and others.

Until the mid-1930s, there was an old cemetery in the park, which local residents called “Mler”.

On the initiative of Agasi Khanjyan, a park was founded in the 1930s, part of which is being turned into a cemetery for cultural figures.

A year after Komitas's death, his ashes were transported from Paris to Armenia and interred here.

The Pantheon was reconstructed in 2005.
