Botanical Garden

In the northeast of Yerevan, in the high mountainous region of the city called Avan, on an area of 90 hectares, the Botanical Garden was opened in 1935. It has become one of the cleanest places in the capital. The garden area is located at an altitude of 1100 m above sea level. This fact allowed the creators to breed dozens and hundreds of species of trees, shrubs and flowers — that could grow favorably in such a climate. In general, the living collection of trees of the Yerevan Botanical Garden contains about 1070 species and garden forms of plants. According to scientific research, this figure in the future may reach 2200. 350 species of economically valuable and highly ornamental woody plants, 225 species and 282 varieties of flower crops have been introduced into the landscaping and afforestation of the republic.

One of the important tasks of the botanical garden is to create a collection of rare and endangered plants. The garden also serves as a scientific and educational base for many universities in the republic. The ticket price is 500 drams, and for children under 10 years old - 200 drams.
A subscription card costs 3,500 drams per month, of which 500 is the cost of the card upon first purchase, and 3,000 is the monthly fee for 1 person.
