Signboards are those boards or billboards you see above the entrance of a store or a cafe. In fact, the signboard is your business card. In this article we are going to tell you what they should look like in Armenia.

Requirements for installation and measurements of signboards
- The height of the letters of the — sign is from 0.1 to 0.8 m;
- projection from the wall — up to 0.5 m;
- the sign should not occupy more than 1/6 of the façade of the building;
- placement of — on the façade at the entrance between windows or showcases on the first floor and windows on the second floor, without interfering with the lower edge of the windows on the second floor.
In the evening, the signboard should be lit up, but no flashing lights should be used (no signal lights that emit light 360° like on police cars are allowed) to avoid dangerous situations.
Requirements for the language and format of the signboards
The language of the signboard is Armenian. It can be combined with other languages, but the text in Armenian should not be less informative. Signs in other languages are placed below or to the right of the Armenian text.
Also, the client can request the some information about the organization, which must be presented to him in Armenian:
- company name;
- address;
- operating mode;
- license number, its validity period and the authority that issued it, if the activity requires licensing.
If the sign does not comply with the requirements, then a fine of 20,000 to 30,000 basic rates (1,000 ֏) will be imposed on the official.
