Jermuk Sanatorium Number 1

Jermuk is a famous medical resort in Armenia. It is located in the northeastern part of Vayots Dzor, at an altitude of 2050 meters above sea level, in the upper reaches of the Arpa River. The resort is surrounded on all sides by picturesque mountain ranges with lush forest cover. Also known as the “First Hospital of Jermuk”. Yeghnik is a gazelle in Armenian, which is the synvol of Jermuk.

Jermuk is rich in unique fresh and mineral springs. Among them, thermomineral waters deserve special attention; their physical and chemical parameters are not inferior to similar sources in Karlovy Vary and Zheleznovodsk. This underground geyser water is used for both drinking and bathing. It is useful for the treatment of various diseases - gastrointestinal, renal and neurological.
