Christmas Eve

In the evening, in all the churches of Armenia, the Holy Liturgy of Chragaluys is served - the Lighting of the lamps. As a rule, on this day, believers pray and perform the rite of repentance, after which they can take communion and take lighted lamps and candles from the temple to their homes. Celebrate Christmas with loved ones. The Christmas table is impossible without fish and rice with dried fruits, herbs and wine.

5 – 8 JANUARY

New Year's program in Letters and Numbers

In the coming days, there will be several good reasons to visit the newly opened Letters and Numbers co-working coffee shop. Russian-Armenian Christmas at Mama Jan

The celebration of Christmas at the Mama Jan cafe will take place with an esoteric twist. First, the guests will be told about the traditions of this holiday among Russians and Armenians, and then the presenters will conduct a meditation, teach them to visualize desires and tell fortunes by candlelight on Tarot cards. They also promise to treat you with fortune cookies and drink tea.

Gusli in Tun Teh

In the Tun-Teh bar, the celebration of the New Year ends with an unusual concert - guests will try to present the psaltery in a new light for them. The musical trio led by Maxim Ryzhov will place the instrument in the context of the rhythms and melodies of Armenia and other countries, and will also perform famous New Year and Christmas compositions.

Christmas dinner Table for friends

Friendship dinner parties are finally back after a break with a special holiday menu. Guests will be able to eat lentil soup with baked apples and dorblu, bruschetta with camembert and roast beef in honey-mustard sauce accompanied by Armenian red. Dinner will be held in collaboration with Greenpoint Cafe. There are only ten places, entrance is possible by prior reservation at Instagram or Telegram.

The Nutcracker at the Opera

The main theatrical event of January is Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker at the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. The fairy tale about the enchanted prince will be staged by choreographer Georgy Kovtun, with scenery and costumes by Vyacheslav Okunev and under the musical direction of conductor Karen Durgaryan.

Princess Diaries Party

The two-year anniversary of the Princess Diaries queer-party, one of the most progressive events of its kind in the city. The party founder Haramik, Arni Rock, Blasha & Allatt, Darth, DJ Smithee and others are responsible for the music this evening. The creators emphasize the inclusiveness and tolerance of the event, but therefore it is also worth being prepared for face control and strict rules inside.

8 JANUARY, SUNDAY

Mochi-Tsuki at Tokyooo Restaurant

Tokyooo Restaurant will be hosting a New Year's Eve event for making and eating mochi, a traditional Japanese rice dessert. Guests will be shown how to properly grind rice for this dish and will be told how all this is connected with the gods and holidays. Mochi-making sessions will be held twice that day - at lunchtime and in the evening.

"What? Where? When?" in PES

Another tournament "What? Where? When?" in PES will be held according to slightly modified rules. Each participant is registered individually, and before the game everyone will be assigned to teams. Thus, the organizers promise to give everyone the opportunity to play.
