Air France is a subsidiary of Air France-KLM. It is one of the largest airlines and one of the oldest.
The airline, prior to the merger with KLM, was France's flagship national airline with 71,654 employees (as of January 2005). The airline operates mainline and regional aircraft. Based at the airports of Paris (Charles de Gaulle International Airport (Charles de Gaulle (main base)) and Orly), Lyon, Nice. It is part of the SkyTeam international alliance, the company's key European partners are Alitalia and Aeroflot. The airline was founded on October 7, 1933. Now operates flights to 187 destinations.
